Your Stories Are An Important Part of the Weathervane Story
Here at Weathervane, we’ve been serving fresh seafood to our guests for nearly 50 years and during that time, stopping in for a lobster dinner or a heaping plate of clams, shrimp or scallops has become a tradition for many families.
We’re incredibly proud to carry on the family tradition that began almost half a century ago when founders Ray and Bea Gagner started Weathervane Seafood Restaurants as a simple seafood take-out stand in Kittery, Maine.
We’re honored that many of our guests come to visit us year after year after year — sometimes even decade after decade — and we believe our shared history is an important part of what makes Weathervane special.
That’s why we’re inviting those of you who’ve dined with us over the years to share your favorite Weathervane memories. Simply put, your stories are a very important part of our story.
In Our Guest's Words
Waitress was very attentive, fish chowder full of fish and very tasty. Fish n Chips - huge piece of the fish, lightly breaded. Great margarita special and they are huge!
Our server was excellent. She had all the tables in our section and worked them with ease. She completely wiped down the table after we finished the steamers, cleaned 'trash' from each table as she went by, refilled drinks regularly and knew the menu and specials well. She knew the right mix between personable and intrusive - I was impressed with her skill.
I can remember stopping at the Weathervane in Kittery on two different family vacations back in the '80s, then again in 2004 when my wife and I traveled through Maine with my parents and her dad. We stopped by again and were not disappointed. The clam chowder was very good. Both of us had the fried seafood platter, which was both delicious and plentiful. Definitely recommend!
The seafood was excellent that I went there two nights in a row. They have margaritas for $5 in different flavors and the goblets were huge, I couldn't believe it. I went there alone and felt very comfortable, great atmosphere.
