| Weathervane Seafoods big backer of Riverdance |
Oct. 13 To the Editor:
The Fuel & More Program held its second annual Riverdance on Sept. 19.
The event would never have been possible without the Gagners of Weathervane Seafoods. This is a truly generous and good-hearted family. For two years in a row, they have gone above and beyond to help make this fund-raiser a success.
They provided the beautiful spot to hold the dance, as well as re-opened their restaurant. In addition, they donated all the paper goods, silverware, lobster bisque, ribs, jumbo shrimp, chips, tablecloths, candles, cook, bartenders and cocktail wait staff. They also donated back to the program half the proceeds from the bar and gave us the chowder at cost. Two of the staff were Steve Belanger and Jeremy Gagner. They literally set everything up and oversaw every little detail, from tables and tablecloths to the food. These are two extremely hardworking guys with an eye for detail.
Thanks also to Meg Cloud, who acted as point person for all our questions and problems. The staff from the restaurant that went out of their way to make sure everyone had what they needed were: Matt Ross, Nate Dargie, Kate Knox, Jon Millett, Kate Maurer and Tony Bizzochi.
A huge thank you also to the Marshall family of Marshall''s Rental Center. They also have supported us two years in a row by donating the huge, beautiful tent and setting it up especially where they used tent blocks to avoid damaging the parking lot with stakes, the dance floor, tables, garden chairs, light towers and heater. Believe me, when it gets colder as the evening wears on, the tent and heater are very much appreciated. Knowing this is a busy time of year for weddings, I can''t thank them enough for setting these items aside for us.
